Foothills Food Bank Executive Director, Board Members, and staff have identified the following four milestones for the upcoming year:
1) Broaden our Local Produce Purchasing Program
This year we're planning to purchase produce from three additional Whatcom County farms, providing excellent fresh produce to our guests while supporting small-scale local agriculture.
2) Expand Service Hours
Bringing on an additional staff members allows us the flexibility to oversee the expansion of our service hours to include an evening distribution.
3) Overhaul Infrastructure
We'll be increasing our storage capacity in our warehouse by adding pallet racking, and our administrative capacity by updating our computer hardware infrastructure.
4) Move the Mobile Food Pantry Program
The addition of the food bank to the EWRRC campus allows us the flexibility to move the Mobile Food Pantry program out to areas East Whatcom that can't access our new facility.
